The skulls are made of light weight plastic and come in several part but are easy to put together There is a top of the skull, bottom ( face ) of the skull and teeth it comes with a chart. On how to put it together. The reason I know this as I use them to sculpt on as armatures.
They are White Plastic but will be easy to stain with mimiwax gel stain. Just rough the plastic some with sandpaper. they look like this:
